Default A Tribute To The Union Bears

As titled. I wrote this as a poem/song tribute to the Union Bears along somewhat to the tune of The people of the Shankhill Rd

    Tribute To The Union Bears

I was travelling on the Clockwork Orange that Glasgow subway train
On a bright and sunny August Saturday
When a man called out to me, ' We are the People' can't you see
And we're off to see the Glasgow Rangers play

They were singing Follow Follow and those fine young Ultra lads
Began to chant Four Boys Had A Dream
They raised their hands up to the sky and let out the battle cry
'We support the world's greatest football team'

The carriages were rocking as the train pulled in to stop
And I forgot about my worries and my cares
And it was quite a scene when they sang God Save The Queen
As the anthem of the Union Bears

They were singing Follow Follow and those fine young Ultra lads
Began to chant Four Boys Had A Dream
They raised their hands up to the sky and let out the battle cry
'We support the world's greatest football team'

They had come from near and far outside the Louden Bar
Some had come from Belfast and Greengairs
But they were all as one, like a father and a son
For these lads are called the Union Bears

They were singing Follow Follow and those fine young Ultra lads
Began to chant Four Boys Had A Dream
They raised their hands up to the sky and let out the battle cry
'We support the world's greatest football team'

They shouted 'Glasgow's Ours' and 'This town belongs to us'
And there and then I offered up some prayers
God it is my desire if heaven has a choir
That they listen to the Union Bears

They were singing Follow Follow and those fine young Ultra lads
Began to chant Four Boys Had A Dream
They raised their hands up to the sky and let out the battle cry
'We support the world's greatest football team'

Along the famous Copland Road those boys in blue all proudly strode
On their way to cheer their team the Honey Pears
With their arms around each other, every man was like a brother
That's the family of the Union Bears

They were singing Follow Follow and those fine young Ultra lads
Began to chant Four Boys Had A Dream
They raised their hands up to the sky and let out the battle cry
'We support the world's greatest football team'

When the team runs out to play ,what a magnificent display
Of colour meets the Rangers players
So this tribute is for you  loyal lads in Royal  blue
It's a thank you to the Union Bears

To those who pay the most fantastic tributes, you will never receive a better one in return.

    Fantastic work again IITN.

    Fantastic.
    But there's always a BUT
    Lyrics are fantastic 100%
BUT like a lot of songs in Ibrox it's not slow enough.
Back in the days of the terraces where everyone was standing this would be fantastic.
Unfortunately to many songs now are sung at 100 miles per hour, and whilst seated u start to sing and everyone else is finished and you feel like a tit trying to sing.
The Union Bears sing Derrys walls to the tune of Amazing Grace, how this never gets full pelt round the stadium amazes me, but mibbies the young ones never had a chance to experience this in the Derry or at Hampden in the 70's u auld bears will remember.

    Fantastic work again IITN.
That photo really does captures the essence of the poem brilliantly NG, the Union Bears in all their glory with voice, colour and identity.

Fantastic tribute to the Union Bears, so wonderfully put into words once again by IITN.

Well done to the UB. Always cheers me up to see them put on a display to outshine the Tinks at Hampden etc.
Look like they are enjoying themselves always.
Blue Order well done over the years too.

Great picture. Just imagine this was the scene 'every other saturday', the full length of the Govan Front and/or Copland Front.

The Union Bears and The Blue Order make the match day experience. Their non stop singing and enthusiastic support added to their fantastic tributes and displays prompted me to write a tribute to them. Respect. I look forward to the day when they are given a more prominent position inside Ibrox which their support and displays so richly deserve.

Agree 100% IITN, we lost the Rangers end to a certain degree with the stadium rebuilding, as we did The Derry before that, when the Centenary Stand was seated and when finally the enclosures were seated also, that was it as far as it goes for us having a designated areas where our our more vocal supporters were concerned.

Would love to see the Union Bears given The Copland Stand front areas CF2,3 and 4, in our traditional Rangers end, but sadly, I don't think that would be possible. Too many reasons as to why, sadly.

But goodness, having the Union Bears stuck in the wrong end of the Broomie and the traditional away end is a complete waste of time, like you say IITN, their displays of colour and voice are lost there and that is something our club and Club 1872 have to try and rectify in some way........

There's about 15/20 blue order at the most I think mate, not sure they'd do much with 3 sections of the Copland

That picture is superb. Hopefully the UB have something special planned for next month at Hampden. They are a credit to the club IMO.
