Apart from the Goalie are any of these Liverpool players playing tonight signed by Klopp as he hasn't really been that active in the transfer market

Emre Can gets worse every time I see him. Looked to be a good prospect when he first went to Liverpool.

Versatility has maybe been a bad thing for him!!

Klavan and Wijnaldum were his. And he didn't sign him but you might as well count Lallana!

Karis saves but Redmond should have scored again.

Don't rate him at all. Clumsy, slow, switches off to often.

Liverpool have been poor that first half but luckily we're it's only 25% through the tie!

As poor as I've seen Liverpool in an attacking sense this season (I'm not counting Sunday with the reserves.)

Hate to say this but that Van Dyke is absolutely strolling this.

Was thinking that about Van Dijk myself. Looks very impressive.

    Van Dijk has his moments.

He did sell goal or two and get sent off two weeks ago.

Another chance missed by Redmond. Close but no cigar.

Liverpool will have to pick up the pace at the weekend to have any chance of taking anything from the vermin.

Hopefully Klopp boots arses before Sunday and they raise their game.

Coutinho's 30 yarders are class. About 1 in 30 finds the net, 1 in 20 finds the target

Not that at the fee they got. And, let's face it, we'd have heard about it as soon as he started getting linked to moves!

Liverpool very lucky if they escape with a 1-0, Southampton really should be 2 or 3
up. You just think they'll learn to regret those misses 2nd leg.

Apparently they do have a Sell-On clause.

Been reported down here that Chelsea are rumoured to be interested at £60m, with that lot getting between 10% - 15%, depending on what paper you read.

If that's true, fair play to them. I'm just surprised the media up here haven't been shouting about it.

Not a great result for Liverpool tonight but still the home leg to go. Liverpool seemed to lack that zip tonight but they have on a few occasions recently. Manť's hard graft was a miss and Henderson in the middle of the park. Lucas is just not good enough. Matip at the back is also a loss when you see the likes of Klavan.

For all the commentators' w@nking themselves into a frenzy, Southampton put in a very disciplined performance and largely had 9-10 men behind the ball, which Liverpool struggled to break down. They only scored through woeful defending. Liverpool had 70%+ possession and Southampton did seem to get every break of the ball. Some days it just goes like that. Liverpool will play far better this season than tonight but it sets up the second leg nicely.

Klopp needs to get out into the market quickly for at least a couple of quality additions asap, ideally at least one (preferably two) at the back and another attacking threat. He works his teams so hard that you can see the tiredness in the players at times. They won't play five star football every single week but the squad needs more quality at the back and fresh legs up front.

Good to see Coutinho back, little flashes of skill and good distribution in the main but clearly left his shooting boots on the coach.

Southampton could cause problems on the counterattack again as Liverpool need to score

    Does away goals count

    IIRC only after extra time.
